The project began as a dream for owner Joe Steimann, a passionate F-4 Phantom fan and aviation artifact collector. In 1991 this aircraft suffered an engine fire and was deemed non-repairable by the German Airforce. The German Airforce decided to use the cocpit section as a trainer at Holloman Airforce Base in New Mexico where the German F-4 Pilots train. When pilot training ceased in 1996 the cockpit section was sent for scrap to Alamogordo scrap yard.
The bird sat in the scrap yard for a few years before it was purchased in August of 2003. Little Pilots purchased and retrieved the cockpit.
The restoration began in August of 2003 and was completed ten months later in June of 2004. Many months of Joe's hardwork, commitment and dedication.
With the restoration now complete, little pilots can now offer many different services to include Birthday parties, Grand opening events, Parades and any other special events.
